Ton Overmars has been a well-known name in Amsterdam since he started at Hoofddorpplein 51 years ago in 1971. Particularly known for its wide range of 4,000 (!) drinks and the lowest price, but also for the great advice on the shop floor. When Ton retired and Hendrik Jan de Mari took over his business in 2017, a second branch followed shortly afterwards in the Watergraafsmeer on the Middenweg. What Hendrik Jan also added was the possibility to buy almost everything refrigerated and he immediately went shopping in Southern Europe with his wine team. Now almost half of the wines are hand-picked by the Overmars team. This means that the wines are purchased directly from the winegrowers and are even cheaper because there is no longer an importer “in between”. With spirits Ton is still euros cheaper than the large chains. You will not find offers at Ton Overmars but “every day low price”. And for all wines always applies: 11 + 1 free.
