BIG COAT

Erwin Wurm, born in 1954 in Bruck an der Mur, Austria, is known for his ‘social sculptures’, particularly his One Minute Figures and One Minute Sculptures. Wurm uses humour to invite the viewer to take a critical look at today’s consumer society. With ‘Big Coat’, he shows how clothing determines the shapes of a person’s body and thus determines or even limits the body’s movement.
